Offener Brief an unseren Trainer Marc Craword:
Dear Mr. Crawford
Since over 35 years I am a die hard ZSC-fan and I really appreciate, what you and your coaching staff are achieving this year with our team. Plus I will never forget, that we played highly attractive AND more importnant successfull hockey when you where with us the first time.
To be very honest, I am not in your shoes and my hockey knowlege is not more than basic. But what I have learned in life is, that you send your best talent to the ocasions that are most important, to ensure that the ambitious goals can be achieved. Therefore I can not understand, why you wouldn't nominate our no. 1 goalie for one of the most important games of this year for us fans.
I presume I don't have to tell you, how important a derby game for most of us was. A home game, sold out venue, losing the last played derby. And yes, I really understand that our no. 2 goalie needs games where he can play and gain match practice. Never the less, I will never understand, why you wouldn't send out the best team possible.
If - and only if - you let our no. 2 goalie start in the first playoff games, I will officially appologize for this letter. Because than you really believe, that our team has more chances to win a game with 6 import players excluding the goalie. If not, it will just show me how important the game on saturday was for you.
I have never written a letter in such a way to the ZSC organisation. And I presume this will not have an impact on your side. But for me, the loss yesterday was hard to see - as for all us of course. Including the team, the staff and all the fans. But you are our coach and you had the chance to influence the game. And by nominating our no. 2 goali you send a message to our oponent and to all the fans: This game is not so important, it's just like any other league game. And that, Mr. Crawford, that I can not and will never understand.
Let me finish with honestly wishing you all the success you are hoping and working hard for this year! MIR SIND ZUERI
Kind regards
ZSColin
